How to Search OhioLearns! for Courses
Institution: If you would like to limit your search results to a particular college or university, select the name of the institution from the drop down list.

For multiple selections, hold down the control key (PC) or the command button (Mac) on your keyboard and use the mouse to point and click. (Up to ten institutions may be chosen per search.)

Course Starting Date: The default search is for courses that begin three months from the current date. This can be changed to six months, and in addition you can specify your own date. Also, by checking the appropriate box you can see courses regardless of date.

Please note that the catalog will always display courses that can be begun at any time.

Keywords or Phrases: Enter a word or phrase that may be associated with the courses you want. Multiple words or phrases must be separated by a comma.
  • Example: "financial, planning" will match either "financial" or "planning", but "financial planning" will only match courses that have a keyword containing that exact phrase.
Method of Course Delivery: You may refine your search by choosing a method of receiving the course.:
  • WWW - Courses offered via the Internet, usually requiring minimal or no on-campus visits by the student.
  • CD-ROM - Courses primarily using CD-ROM. OhioLearns! pages specify if the CD-ROM is formatted to use with Windows, Macintosh, or any other operating system.
  • Videotape - Courses offered via videotape, which may be mailed or otherwise made available to students.
  • Video Conference - Students interact with the instructor and class via live video. This delivery method may require a visit to a video site.
  • Television Broadcast - Courses offered via cable television or microwave, in which the course broadcast is "open" or available to students in a particular region or locality.
  • Correspondence- A traditional course using the Mail.
Course Type: Select the appropriate course level: Undergraduate, Graduate, Certificate, Continuing Education (CEU), Noncredit, or Other.
Campus Visit Necessary?: Some courses require at least a miminal visit to the host campus. Others do not.
Submit: When you have finished the form, click on Submit to start your course search.
