5. Will I be able to get tutoring help once I start taking classes at a distance?
Many colleges and universities have their own Student Services Centers to help students improve upon their study skills, math readiness, and writing skills. These facilities usually have hours during the daytime or evening where students can come to receive special assistance. For students who need help during off-hours, select campuses also have contracted with online tutoring services that are available to work with students almost 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. One such tutoring service is called Smarthinking. Smartinking is a tutoring service that is offers by some Ohio colleges and universities who are members.
Smarthinking offers help in subject areas such as math, science, business, English as a second language (ESOL), and Spanish. Smarthinking also has an online writing lab where students can submit essays and other written work for personalized and detailed critique and feedback. Its team of experienced educators has provided 500,000 tutoring sessions to 115,000 students in 300 colleges and universities.
