4. Can I transfer courses from OhioLearns! to other Ohio institutions?
Yes! The for-credit courses offered in OhioLearns!, by Ohio’s two- and four- year institutions are similar to their traditionally taught courses when it comes to transfer policy. To find out more about transferring previously taken college credit, you should talk to the admission counselor when you apply for enrollment at the institution of your choice.
You can, however, get many of your questions answered by using The Course Applicability System (CAS). CAS takes higher education institutions to a new level in student services. CAS provides the ability to review Course Equivalency Guides, Academic Programs, Courses Offered, and unofficial Transfer Course Evaluations in a web environment. Students, faculty, and the interested public can easily retrieve information from a CAS site on the Internet.
Students contemplating a transfer may submit their course work to any institution within the CAS network for evaluation against the institution's academic programs. CAS provides information on courses, course equivalencies, and program requirements at a CAS institution to anyone who accesses a CAS Web site. For students who become a "CAS Member", CAS provides information on how their specific coursework will transfer and apply towards a degree at a CAS institution. CAS also lets you search specifically for how courses offered 100% at a distance will transfer and meet program and degree requirements at other participating institutions.
