As discussed, interests are things we like to do. One way of considering
educational opportunities in Ohio is to view degrees offered at a distance
through interests. In the the Self-Assessment
section, you were able to take one of the Interest
Surveys based on the Holland Code. You were asked to identify two
or three interest patterns that sounded the most like you from six options:
Realistic, Investigative, Artistic, Social, Enterprising, and Conventional.
In OhioLearns! the
degrees and certificates have been categorized under one or two interest
patterns. The names for the categories differ slightly from the Holland
code names. For a comparison, use the chart below for a brief description
of the types and their corresponding categories in OhioLearns!
Do not be surprised if you see the same degree appearing in more than
one category. Some degrees and certificates have been crossed listed under
two categories. Visit
the degree and certificate search section in OhioLearns!
Use this section to discover new educational possibilities or to confirm
planned actions. Remember, a Regional Coordinator
will be happy to help you.
